Rita was indeed one of our dearest workers at Haddam-Killingworth High School. She worked hard at her job and truly cared for our kids.  She made a difference to those with whom she worked during their stay with her.  She made certain that their work was done and done well. She helped them achieve good workmanship.  Several came later to let me know that it meant a great deal to them that someone was really interested in them.  

God has granted us a wonderful gift in knowing Rita.

I knew Rita from St. Lawrence Church and also our meetings at Stop and Shop!!!  She was a beautiful Irish woman both inside and out.  She was a lady in every sense of the word.  I will miss her lovely smile and our friendship.  My sympathy to her family.

March 11,2011  I met Rita when she came to work at the high school...i was the nurse there and we had lunch together every day..She had a spunk about her and was very comical at times...She took her job in inschool suspension very seriously..Always a lady and it was a joy to know her..my sympathy to all of you...Sincerely, Ethel Belcourt

My sincerest sympathies are extended to the family of Rita Baker.  She was a fine lady.  I am a teacher.  I worked with Rita for many, many years in Regional School District 17.

Rita and I shared our friendship over several years.  I first met Rita when I transferred to Burr School in Reg 17 and she was my assistant.  She was a hard worker and a strong disciplinarian.  Though a very private person, over time she became open to sharing her thoughts with me -- and her friendship.  We shared many conversations, lunches, visits, and wild rides in her car.  I will always remember her striking blue eyes, beautiful white hair, and her warm smile. I will miss her dearly.

God Bless you, Rita, and rest in peace in the arms of our Creator.

We'll miss her sparkling Irish eyes as well as her good nature.....God Bless Rita it was a pleasure knowing her!
