Ruth “Dot” Lawrence, 57 passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 19, 2011. Dot was born June 2, 1954 in Harnett County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late John Archie Lawrence and Stella May McIver. Upon moving to Connecticut, Dot met and fell in love with her son’s father John Howsie. Dot is survived by her son Sean C. Howsie (Niger) of Stamford, Ct, her stepdaughter Jessica Howsie of Stamford, Ct, her 3 grandchildren Shaquan C. Howsie, Christopher J. Durant, and Aiyana C. Howsie. Dot is also survived by her brothers William Lawrence(Clarinda) of Maryland, Jimmy Lawrence of North Carolina, Perry Lawrence Maryland, and her sister Stella Lawrence of North Carolina, and a host of loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Dot is predeceased by her brother James “Duke” McIver. Calling hours will be held Monday, July 25, 2011 from 4 to 8 pm at Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer Street, Stamford, CT. A funeral service will be held at 7PM at the funeral home.
