Vincent "Jeff" Comas Webb Jr., a decorated and patriotic veteran, died peacefully at home on May 12, 2024. He was the son of Dr. Vincent Cosmas Webb and Margaret English Webb, born in Glen Cove, NY on April 28, 1947.
Jeff's trajectory through life was marked by notable achievements and pivotal moments. Following his education at Friends Academy in Locust Valley, NY and Lawrence Academy in Groton, MA, he responded to the call of duty by enlisting in the Army in 1969. Serving with valor and distinction, he contributed to the war efforts in Vietnam as a member of the 75th Ranger Regiment. He was awarded a Bronze Star and Purple Heart for his service.
Upon his return, Jeff pursued a bachelor’s degree at The Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania, while concurrently working at Smokey Joe’s, a local institution. In 1974, he married Marjorie Harrison, and they moved to Greenwich, CT. Jeff's professional journey included positions at Honeywell, Solomon Brothers and E.F. Hutton before ultimately finding great personal and professional success in Real Estate Development.
In 2006, Jeff embarked on a new chapter of his life, uniting in marriage with Lynda Montgomery. Together, they built a life and a home in Wilton, CT. Jeff retired and devoted time to his passions for horticulture, marksmanship at the Weston Gun Club, and shared travel adventures with Lynda.
Jeff's legacy of love and dedication endures through his devoted wife, Lynda, and his children, Marjorie Childress (Ryan), Alexandra Clark, and Peter Webb (Claire). He is also mourned by his sister Chery Webb (Jacquie), and predeceased by his sister Judy Kilmartin and his son-in-law Alistair Clark. Beyond his immediate family, Jeff's love extended to his cherished twelve grandchildren.
He was a member of Weston Gun Club and had been a member of Campfire Club of America and Round Hill Club. Jeff will be remembered for his steadfast kindness and unwavering integrity.
RLTW (Rangers Lead The Way), a motto that encapsulates Jeff's resolute spirit and leadership, serves as a fitting testament to his enduring legacy. Though he is no longer with us, Jeff's memory will continue to inspire generations to come, serving as a beacon of honor and service.
A memorial service to celebrate Jeff's life and legacy will be held at 11am on June 14, 2024 at The First Congregational Church of Greenwich (108 Sound Beach Ave, Old Greenwich, CT 06870). At a later date, the family will hold a private interment service at Arlington National Cemetery.
