Abdul Shabazz

Abdul was born and raised in Harlem NY a city that he took great pride in.

Abdul passed peacefully from this life on December 30th 2025 at 7:58am. He was preceded in death by his loving Mother Ruth Austin,Father Sonny Austin, Brother Richard Austin and Grandmother Adelaide Austin.

He leaves to mourn his children Kimyetta Austin, Afrika Coaxum (Curtis Coaxum son in- law) Ojinga 'Jay' Austin (Haneefah Austin daughter in-law)and Adessii 'Dee' Austin. Grandchildren Shaquana, Tamika, Kenya Imani,Kenya Corey,Akil and Jaquan Austin. Greatgrand children Kimora, Zion, Xavier,Miracle and Kobe. Nephew Elijah Austin (wife Tiara Austin) Sister in-law Inez Austin. Niece Zena.

Abdul's Domestic Partner was Jacqueline Frazier. He became a stepfather to Jackie's children Decarlos, Donald and Detrelle Joy Frazier. His foster grandchildren Zahmeil Steele and Zahmire Steele.

Abdul attended Prestigious Vocational H.S.for Boys. He was employed for many years in construction and trucking, careers he really loved, until he retired last March. Work was Abdul's passion. He would be up and ready for work at 1am not to return until maybe 8pm never complaining. Abdul was an intelligent and wise man,with a profound perspective on life. He had a gift for storytelling and humor. Always keeping those around him laughing with his jokes and memorable wit. His presence, wisdom and laughter will greatly be missed.

Abdul leaves a host of other family members and friends who all loved him.
