

A native of Staten Island, Mrs. Healy was one of 9 children of Anthony and Mary Ostrowski, who emigrated from Poland in the early 20th Century. They settled in the New Brighton neighborhood, where they were founding members of St. Stanislaus Kostka R.C. Church.
Mrs. Healy graduated from Curtis High School in 1949. She worked as a secretary at the U.S. Gypsum Company in New Brighton where she met her future husband, Donald. After they married, they lived on Staten Island and in Pennsylvania, Virginia, Upstate New York, Massachusetts, Ohio, Washington, and New Jersey, always enjoying the adventure with their growing family.
A devout Catholic who attended daily mass and dedicatedly prayed for others, Mrs. Healy lived her faith in her everyday life, setting an inspiring example for her family and all who knew her.
She was known for her kindness, warmth, generosity, gentle manner, love for her family, humor, patience, thoughtfulness, supportiveness, and genuine interest in others. Mrs. Healy enjoyed gardening, travel, reading, animals, nature, Polish culture, holidays, hot coffee, baseball, and most of all, spending time with her large family.
She was predeceased by Donald F. Healy, her devoted husband of 62 years, and by her infant daughter, Marianne. She is survived by seven children, Cynthia Healy, James Healy, Donald Healy, Jr., Regina Cusano (Marc), Ellen Bartolotta (Douglas), Edward Healy (Arndreya), and Yvonne Lee Healy (Jeff Cotton). She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her 8 siblings, Lillian, Benjamin, Stanley, Edward, Daniel, Emily, and John Ostrowski, and Barbara Dittemer.
