

Born Alice Tietjen in Queens, she lived there for most of her life. She moved to New Springville in 2000 and lived in that community until 2009, when she entered Brookhaven Nursing Home in Port Jefferson, L.I., due to illness.
Mrs. Moore worked as a seamstress for most of her life. She later worked as a housekeeper at Holy Cross Cemetery in Brooklyn. She retired in 2008.
“All that knew her would call her Nanny,” said her daughter-in-law, Melissa Moore.
Mrs. Moore cherished time with her grandchildren, who were her life, family said. She also enjoyed sewing and trips to Atlantic City.
Her son, Keith, died in 1977.
Surviving are her sons, Ronald and Michael; her brother, James Tietjen, and seven grandchildren.
The funeral service will be Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in the Virginia Funeral Chapel, Dongan Hills. Arrangements include cremation.
