passed away on September 8, 2024 in his family home.
Anthony (Tony) was born on December 18, 1955 to Louis and Pearl Burdo in
Brooklyn, NY. After graduating from Tilden High School in 1973, he went on to
work with his Father at the renowned Crazy Country Club in Bay Ridge,
Brooklyn. During that time, he shared the stage with his father and curated his
own unique skills as an entertainer and performer of comedy and music. He
formed many close relationships that he maintained for the rest of his life. In
1983, Tony met Tricia Cione at the club, and they went on to have one child
together: Anthony Justin Burdo (AJ). In later years, he managed the club until it
closed in 1993.
Tony became a ‘Jack of All Trades’ exploring careers in diverse fields including
tax preparation, healthcare, restaurant management and many others. However,
he always flourished as an entertainer - especially as the fearless leader, vocalist
and guitar player for The Tash Brothers Band. For the past two decades, he
played side by side with his son, AJ.
No matter what, Tony always prioritized spending time with his family and
friends. He was a devoted Son, Brother, Father and Grandfather. Most recently,
he found a new zest for life caring for his grandson, Weston.
Tony made his own path throughout his life and yet never left anyone behind. He
was a generous soul and an unwavering friend. There was never a time when
you left him without a smile or a laugh.
Tony was predeceased by his parents Pearl and Louis Burdo, and his brother-inlaw
Kenneth Gorka.
He lives on in spirit survived by his son: AJ (Jennifer) Burdo, his grandson:
Weston Burdo, his sister: Lisa Burdo-Gorka, his brother: Scott (Peggy) Burdo, his
niece: Blake (Dennis), and his nephews: Harrison (Cristina), Andrew and
Thomas.
Tony did not want a formal service, but a celebration of his life will take place in
the Spring 2025.
