

A lifelong Staten Islander, he was born and raised in Castleton Corners before moving to Annadale in 1984.
Mr. Montella graduated from Tottenville High School.
He worked as a marine diesel mechanic for Island Tug & Barge, a Reinauer company, for four years, and was the owner and a licensed tattoo artist of Gothic Realm Tattoo Studio, Graniteville since 1994.
He was extraordinarily artistic. He valued music and was either listening to it or playing one of the numerous instruments he could play.
“My dad had a very caring heart and loved to surround himself with animals and his children. His free spirit and charismatic personality left him loved by all he encountered,” said his daughter, Taylor Montella.
He was a member of Holy Child R.C. Church, Eltingville.
Along with his daughter Taylor Montella, he’s survived by a son Anthony M. Montella, and his mother, Constance Montella.
The funeral mass will be Monday at 10 a.m. in Holy Child R.C. Church, Eltingville. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery, West Brighton. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Casey Funeral Home, Castleton Corners.
