Born in Port Richmond, she attended Port Richmond High School. She moved to Westerleigh in 1990.
Ms. Young worked as a clerk for the Bank of New York until her retirement four or five years ago.
In her leisure time, she enjoyed playing the different versions of Pac-Man and going to lunch with her friends. She also loved to dance.
"She was a smart, sweet woman and she is going to be missed," said her grandson Jaycen Corrente.
Also surviving is Ms. Young's son.
The funeral service will be Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. in the Casey Funeral Home, Castleton Corners. Arrangements include cremation.
