Bernadette Valenza

Born Bernadette Narducci in Monacilioni, Italy, she was brought to Staten Island as a child.

Ms. Valenza graduated with honors from Hunter College in Manhattan in 1951. She earned a master's degree from Wagner College in Grymes Hill in 1966.

Ms. Valenza loved attending Broadway theater productions and shopping in Manhattan with her family and friends. She enjoyed music and singing.

Ms. Valenza was a parishioner of St. Teresa R.C. Church, Castleton Corners, and St. Rita R.C. Church, Meiers Corners.

Her husband of 56 years, John Valenza, died in 2004.

She is survived by son, Steven Valenza; a daughter, Janet Valenza; her brother, Joseph Narducci, and one grandson.

The funeral will be Tuesday from the Casey Funeral Home, Castleton Corners, with a mass at 12:45 p.m. in St. Teresa's Church. Burial will be in Moravian Cemetery, New Dorp.
