

Born in the Bronx, Mr. Peragine moved to Staten Island in 1971. He attended Curtis High School and the former Richmond College where he earned an associate's degree in English.
Mr. Peragine was employed by E-ZPass and worked in the accounting department. He was also a longtime employee of Waldbaum's supermarket, when he retired in 2001 due to illness.
In his leisure time, he was a sports enthusiast and his favorite teams were the New York Yankees, Rangers, and Giants. He also enjoyed watching television and spending time with family and friends.
Mr. Peragine was a parishioner of Holy Rosary R.C. Church in South Beach, and looked forward to attending mass there on Sundays.
"He was a kind and loving person," said his mother, Marie Peragine. " He was always putting others ahead of himself."
In addition to his mother, Marie, surviving are his brother, Vito, and two sisters, Donna Peragine and Annmarie Floridia.
The funeral will be Saturday from the Casey Funeral Home, Castleton Corners, with a mass at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church. Burial will follow in Moravian Cemetery, New Dorp.
