Charles M. Falletta, beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on February 10, 2026. He was the cherished first born son of the late Salvatore C. Falletta and the late Ann (Rusnak) Falletta. He was a devoted brother to Michael S. Falletta and Carolyn A. Falletta. Devoted uncle to Michael Charles Falletta and his wife, Brittany and Sam Falletta, great uncle to Mia Falletta and Michael Charles Falletta, Jr. He was a true loving devoted son who held a very close relationship with his father and his mother. A son like no other and he also kept up a very close relationship with all of his aunts and uncles.
Born and raised on Staten Island, Charles attended St. Mary’s Elementary School, New Dorp High School, and later Richmond College. During his college years, he spent his summers working alongside his Uncle Mike on Long Island. He continued his studies, earning his Master’s degree and embarking on a long and dedicated career as a New York City high school teacher of History and Economics. Over the years, he taught at Bushwick High School, Richmond Hill High School, and spent many fulfilling years at the High School of Fashion Industries in Manhattan. On his way home he would stop off in downtown Manhattan and meet his Uncle Johnny. They would walk around downtown, sometimes walking to Chinatown for dinner before going home. He took after his Uncle John’s love of smoking cigars.
After retiring from teaching, Charles worked closely with his sister Carolyn at Staten Island Real Estate Properties Magazine. Together, they traveled throughout Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, and New Jersey, sharing many memorable hours on the road. He even went as far as purchasing a Suburban to help her with her business.
As a teenager, Charles enjoyed working as a caddy at Richmond County Country Club, where his lifelong love of golf began. In retirement, he returned wholeheartedly to the game, joining Glenwood Country Club in Old Bridge, New Jersey, where he played nearly every day. There, he formed lasting friendships and became part of a wonderful community of fellow golfers. He especially treasured the many rounds he played with his brother and sister. The eventual closing of Glenwood Country Club, which was sold for warehouse development, was a deep disappointment to him and something he never quite overcame.
Charles was a man who took pride in the simple joys of life. He loved playing golf, spending time outdoors cutting the grass, keeping fit, and meticulously caring for his cars, and his cigar collection. Whether meticulously tending to his yard or polishing his latest vehicle (including his 1979 navy blue Corvette which he was quite proud of owning), he found satisfaction in a job done well. He even had a vegetable garden and this year successfully grew watermelons. Next year he planned to plant a whole yard of watermelons. His garden also consisted of spinach, cabbages, swiss chard, lettuce and tomatoes which he shared multiple bags with many of the neighbors throughout the summer.
Known for his kindness and warm nature, Charles was truly loved by all who met him. He was the kind of person you could easily talk to — thoughtful, genuine, caring, intelligent, funny, and always ready for a meaningful conversation. His presence brought comfort and laughter to those around him, and his easygoing spirit made him a great friend and companion.
He was a proud and devoted godfather to his cousin Arleen’s firstborn daughter, Heather, as well as godfather to his nephews, Michael Charles Falletta and Sam Falletta.
He is survived by his loving brother, Michael, and sister, Carolyn, as well as his cherished nephews. Growing up he was very close to his cousins, spending lots of time playing together. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, former colleagues, and all whose lives he touched.
Charles’ memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He made a lasting imprint on everyone he met.
