Born on the Island, he lived in several communities before settling in Port Richmond many years ago.
Mr. Wheeler worked as a maintenance supervisor at a condo complex, The Oaks at Latourette, for 21 years.
In his leisure time, he enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with friends. He also enjoyed growing flowers in his garden.
Surviving are his wife of 27 years, Pat; four daughters, Christina, Danielle, Kimberly and Jennifer; his mother, Pat Brown; two brothers Roy and Buddy; two sisters, Deanna Simmons and Dorothy Wheeler, and four grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. in the Harmon Home for Funerals, West Brighton. Arrangements include cremation. Arrangements under the direction of Harmon Funeral Home, Staten Island, NY.
