Doris E. Spinelli

Doris E. Spinelli, 88, of Staten Island, New York, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 14, 2025. A lifelong Staten Islander, Doris was a devoted and faithful Christian who found spiritual fulfillment at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on Cary Avenue until it combined with St. Luke's Lutheran to make St. Paul/St. Luke’s Lutheran Church on Decker Avenue, and finally at Zion Lutheran Church on Watchogue Road.

Doris was a beloved member of her community, giving over 50 years of dedication to the Girl Scouts and being an active presence in the Staten Island Youth Community Center at the Todt Hill Houses. She also worked at Kmart for more than 20 years, where she built lasting friendships and brightened the days of many customers and colleagues.

A passionate fan of the New York Mets, Doris enjoyed cheering on her team and sharing in the excitement of the game. She also loved ceramics, scrapbooking, bowling, traveling, and, most of all, spending time with her family, who meant the world to her.

Doris is survived by her loving daughters, Doris, Debra, and Denise; her cherished nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She is reunited in eternal peace with her beloved husband, Angelo, and her dear daughter, Dawn.

Doris’s kindness, faith, and unwavering love for her family and community will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A visitation for Doris will be held Tuesday, February 18, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Casey Funeral Home, 350 Slosson Ave, Staten Island, NY 10314.

A funeral service will occur Wednesday, February 19, 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM, 350 Slosson Ave, Staten Island, NY 10314.

A committal service will occur Wednesday, February 19, 2025 from 11:30 AM to 11:45 AM at Moravian Cemetery, 2205 Richmond Rd, New York, NY 10306.
