
Born at home in New Brighton, he lived most of his life in that community, leaving it only to move into his daughter’s home in Boonton, N.J., in 1985.
He graduated from Curtis High School in 1943.
Mr. Kozlowski served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and was a member of the Construction Brigade, the Seabees. A carpenter's mate third class, he was stationed in the South Pacific and saw duty in the Marshall Islands.
He and the love of his life, Evelyn Lenjosek, wed in 1950 in St. Stanislaus Kostka R.C. Church, New Brighton.
Mr. Kozlowski worked as a traffic manager for Consolidated Cigar, Manhattan, for 30 years, retiring 29 years ago.
Fascinated with history and anything to do with the military, Mr. Kozlowski spent much of his time reading and watching history programming.
“He absolutely loved history,’’ said his daughter, Valerie Pax. “He loved anything to do with history or the military.”
Mr. Kozlowski was a devoted husband, his daughter said. Until last week, he had driven 80 miles round-trip, four times each week, to visit Evelyn, his wife of 63 years, in her nursing home.
The funeral will be Thursday from the Harmon Home for Funerals, West Brighton, with a mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Peter’s R.C. Church, New Brighton. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery, West Brighton.
