

Mr. Eugene Horan was born on Staten Island, the fifth son of Michael and Alice (Kelly) Horan. He graduated from St. Peter’s High School and Fordham University. Mr. Horan worked as an executive for the National Office of the Boy Scouts of America and as Vice President, Community Relations for Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. In 1988, he received an Award of Honor for outstanding service to the hospital and community.
Mr. Horan was president of the Staten Island Catholic Interracial Council, President of the Jersey Shore Public Relations and Advertising Association, and was founder and chairman of Breakfast for Life, an interfaith prayer breakfast for business and professional people.
Mr. Horan moved to Rossmoor in Monroe Township, NJ in 1998 where he was editor of the Rossmoor News from 1999 to 2010. He was founder and president of the Rossmoor Hiking and Outing Club. Other responsibilities include publicity chairman of the Catholic Society and board member of the Rossmoor Music Association. He was also active in the Bocce League, Emerald Society, Italian-American Club, Computer Club, Rossmoor Chorus and the Players.
