Born and raised in Cairo, Egypt, he moved to Eltingville in 1975.
Mr. Hannah had a 30-year career as a self-employed financial adviser. He also had been a co-owner of Grasmere Imaging for five years.
He was a parishioner of Archangel Michael and St. Mena Coptic Orthodox Church in Great Kills.
Surviving Mr. Hanna are his wife of 35 years, the former Taisier George; his son, Peter; his daughters, Maryann Youssef and Christine Hannah; a brother, Samir; four sisters, Mimi Farid, Laila Farag, Sohair Youssef and Samia Selim, and a grandson.
The funeral will be Thursday from the Casey Funeral Home, Castleton Corners, with the liturgy at 10 a.m. in Archangel Michael and St. Mena Church. Burial will follow in Moravian Cemetery, New Dorp.
