Frances Marie DiClerico

Beloved mother and grandmother, Frances Marie DiClerico, 75, passed away peacefully at Staten Island University Hospital on November 16, 2022 with her children by her side. Frances, also known as "Fran," was born, Frances Marie Santino, on November 7, 1947 to Angela and Carmelo Santino in Manhattan. At the age of one, the family of three moved to Astoria, Queens. In July 1961, at the age of 13, the family then moved to Eltingville, Staten Island. Frances always considered herself a native Staten Islander, as she moved "pre Verrazzano bridge." Frances graduated New Dorp High School in 1965 having received the bookkeeping award. From 1965 – 1977, she was employed as a bank clerk on Wall Street for Irving Trust and Cereal Federal Savings Bank. On September 4, 1976, Frances married John Joseph DiClerico, Sr. at which time she moved to Lower Todt Hill, where she remained for the next 46 years. When her children attended high school, Frances returned to the work force as a clerk for the New York City Public Library. Her most cherished role was that of mother and grandmother. Her interests include shopping, crossword puzzles, reading and spending time with her family. Frances was predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her daughter, Debra Ann DiClerico of Massapequa, New York and son, John Joseph DiClerico, Jr. of Old Bridge, New Jersey. She is also survived by her son-in-law, Kevin Frederick Avis and daughter-in-law, Marci Robyn DiClerico as well as her three beautiful granddaughters, Dayna Bari DiClerico, Madyson Leigh DiClerico and Kieva Riley Avis. Visitation will be held at Casey Funeral Home on November 18, 2022 from 4 PM – 8 PM. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Teresa of the Infant Jesus on November 19, 2022 at 10:15 AM. Interment will follow at Moravian Cemetery.
