Gerhard "Gary" Kiefert

Gary was born August 7th 1940 in Kensington, Brooklyn to William and Ellsbeth Kiefert. He grew up speaking German as a young child. He married his wife Deene in 1963, and had their daughter Lisa in July 1969, before relocating to Staten Island in the early 70s. He had a long career working for AT&T.

Gary loved gardening, sweets, current events, old Westerns, and making people laugh. He was a very generous and loving husband, father, grandfather, and father-in-law, and will be missed dearly.

He joins his late wife Deene, and is survived by his daughter Lisa, son-in-law Frank, and grandchild Sophia. They would like to very gratefully recognize all of the physical therapists and staff at the Brielle nursing home for their excellent care throughout his months spent there, especially Gary’s favorite therapist Christina. They would also like to thank the nurses and doctors of Staten Island University Hospital North, for their care, support, and expertise during his final days.

Family and friends are invited to gather and pay their respects from 3pm to 8pm on Friday, April 24th at Harmon Funeral Home in Staten Island, NY.
