

Guy Klucevsek, age 78, passed away under the care of home hospice on May 22, 2025, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Guy was born to Godfred Klucevsek and Alyse Hamilton on February 26, 1947, in New York City. After graduating from East Deer Frazer High School in Springdale, Pennsylvania, he received a B.A. in music composition at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and an M.A. from the University of Pittsburgh. He continued post-grad study at the California Institute of the Arts.
Guy was an accomplished musician and composer. He discovered the accordion while watching 1950s television and thus began his musical journey. He worked in the worlds of music, theater and dance and collaborated with many other artists to create imaginative and memorable recordings and performances. His journey took him to many parts of the globe. He was honored to perform at the funeral of Senator John McCain. A highlight of his professional career was his visit to Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood.
Guy was a warm and generous collaborator. He was known for his sense of humor and his love of puns. His witty emails are legendary among his friends. Some of his favorite things include: baseball (especially New York Mets and 1960 Pittsburgh Pirates), crossword puzzles, mechanical instruments, Hitchcock films, music of Kurt Weill, vacations with his Moveable Feast group of friends, sharing food with friends and colleagues, and the songs of the mockingbird.
Guy is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jan Klucevsek; cousins Marian Bartosh and Doreen Klucevsek-Whalen (Joe); second cousins Kenny (Gale) and Larry (Lisa) Bartosh, Francesca and Dorothea Klucevsek-Whalen (Michael Fahey); sisters-in-law Susan Gibson and Carole Kushner, brother-in-law Robert Gibson(Pam); several nephews and his only niece Shawna Kushner.
