

Harpaul Reginald Das, lovingly known as Jai, Paul, and George, passed away at the age of 80. He was born in Chesney, Guyana, and later became a longtime resident of Staten Island, New York, where he built a life centered around family, faith, and hard work.
Harpaul was the beloved husband of Drupattie Reginald, whom he lovingly called “Sam,” and with whom he shared 57 years of marriage filled with love, dedication, and partnership.
He was a devoted father to Stephen Arjoon (predeceased) and his wife Angela Arjoon; David Reginald and his wife Ormela Reginald; Rosemarie Beepath and her husband Narad Beepath; Amos Reginald and his wife Zalina Reginald; and Jennifer Reginald.
He was also the proud grandfather of 17 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, all of whom were a great source of pride and joy in his life.
Harpaul is also lovingly remembered by his siblings: Baby, Drup Didi, Aunty Nelly, Uncle Moses, Uncle Peter, Chan Dada, Uncle Bulchan, and Gopee Chacha, along with many extended family members and friends.
Harpaul was a faithful member of Castleton Moravian Church and enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, and cooking. He took pride in his strength and in his younger years had a passion for heavyweight lifting.
Throughout his life, Harpaul worked hard to provide for his family. His places of employment included Eklof Marine and Cadell. He later founded Paul Weld Tech, which he built from the ground up into a thriving and respected business.. He attended Albion Primary School in Guyana.
Harpaul will always be remembered as caring, humble, generous, intelligent, and deeply loving. He had a gift for storytelling and a natural sense of humor that made him the jokester of the room. He loved music, took pride in his style, and had a personality that left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
His favorite sayings, often shared with a smile, included:
“Best of the best,” “Mastah,” “King of King,” and “Do you know who I am?”
Harpaul’s life was a testament to perseverance and sacrifice. He came to this country with nothing, sacrificed everything, and built a lasting legacy for his family. His love, strength, and example will continue to live on through the generations he helped shape.
Visitation will be held at Casey Funeral Home, 350 Slosson Ave, Staten Island, NY 10314, US, on March 12, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, and again from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
A Funeral Service will take place at Great Kills Moravian Church, 62 Hillside Terrace, Staten Island, NY 10308, on March 13, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by a Committal Service at Moravian Cemetery, 2205 Richmond Rd, Staten Island, NY 10306, US, on March 13, 2026, beginning at 12:30 pm.
