Jack Scalisi, born on March 30, 1935, in Staten Island, proudly embraced his Italian American heritage. Raised in New Dorp, he cherished his upbringing, especially his childhood passion for raising homing pigeons, a hobby nurtured by his mother, Sara, and shared with his sister, Violet.
Jack was a devoted husband to Helen (nee Mahoney), whom he married on December 20, 1958.
After serving in the Army with pride, Jack returned home as a veteran, having dutifully served his country. He found immense joy and fulfillment in his role as a loving and proud father to his daughters Karen, Maureen, Jacqueline, and Helen, and cherished his relationships with his sons-in-law Vito, Tony, and Christopher. His greatest joys were his nine grandchildren, whom he adored, and his seven great-grandchildren.
Jack was the proud owner of J & R Printing, a local business he established and owned from the late 1970s until his retirement.
He was a Snowbird, dividing his time between his cherished home in Staten Island and his beloved condo in Treasure Island, Florida. Whether relaxing on the beach, engaging in poker nights with friends, or enjoying dinner outings, Jack found happiness in life's simple pleasures.
He relished adventures in Atlantic City with his brother-in-laws and hunting escapades with neighbors. Jack's love for travel took him to Lake George, Ocean City, Maryland, Southampton, and on numerous memorable cruises that he enjoyed with Helen.
Weekends were spent meticulously maintaining his collection of cars, from Cadillacs to his prized yellow El Camino. A devoted sports fan, Jack cheered on the NY Yankees and NY Jets with fervor.
In his later years, Jack found his greatest joy in the company of his family, whether at countless family gatherings, leisurely escapes to LBI, or simply sharing precious moments together. Jack Scalisi will be remembered for his unwavering love, his zest for life, and the profound impact he had on all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
