

Born Jeanne Sagaria in Tompkinsville, she lived in Fort Wadsworth for 15 years, and Castleton Corners for 20 years, before moving to Florida 20 years ago. She also lived in New Jersey for less than a year, before returning to Castleton Corners home of her son, the same home in which she had raised her children.
Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Meyers owned a Carvel ice cream shop on the corner of Forest Avenue and Bard Avenue, West Brighton, for 20 years, retiring in the late 1980s.
Mrs. Meyers loved music. She enjoyed line dancing, singing, bowling, golf, playing cards and spending time her children and grandchildren.
"She was a very sweet person,'' said her daughter, Deborah Labetti. "She helped a lot of her friends out. Whenever anyone needed help, my mother was right there. She was very generous, very thoughtful.''
Her former husband, Charles Meyers, died in 2004. Her second husband, Andrew Zimmer, died in 2010. In addition to her daughter, Deborah, she is survived by a son, Gerald; her sister, Ann Harrison, and two grandchildren.
The funeral will be Saturday from the Casey Funeral Home, Castleton Corners, with a 10 a.m. mass in Sacred Heart R.C. Church, West Brighton. Arrangements included cremation.
