

She was born and raised in Arrochar where she lived until she married in 1956. She and her husband ultimately settled in Castleton Corners. She had lived in the same home for 57 years.
She attended St. John Villa Academy for grammar school and high school. After graduating in 1947, she continued her education at Drake Business School.
She was employed at Chase Manhattan Bank as served as secretary to the senior vice president for 12 years.
She left the workforce in 1960 when her son was born. In 1977, she returned to work at Gateway State Bank as secretary to the president. When Gateway State Bank transitioned to Staten Island Savings Bank, she remained employed as an executive assistant for business development and remained in that position until she retired in 2004 at the age of 75.
She took great pride in her organizational skills, and was always willing to help others in that regard. After retirement, she was instrumental in formulating filing systems at her daughter’s retail store. She was also accomplished regarding computers.
For many years, she was actively involved in the Willowbrook Chapter of the AARP, the St. John Villa Alumni Association, and the Golden Age Club at St. Teresa where she enjoyed playing bingo.
She loved to travel and toured Europe and the United States with her husband. In her later years, she and her husband would spend winters in Leesburg, Florida until his death in 2013.
When her children were small, she was always involved in their activities. She served as den mother for Cub Scout Pack 37 at St. Teresa School. She loved to sew, and made Halloween costumes for her children. Her costumes won prizes for 2 consecutive years. In addition, she made matching dresses for her and her daughter.
She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and looked forward to sharing in their milestones.
She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and watching soap operas, especially The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful. She was also a great fan of The Big Bang Theory.
She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years (Raymond) and survived by her son John Erickson (Maryann), daughter Barbara Breuer (Charlie), grandsons John Erickson (Lauren) and Gregory Erickson.
