Grandpa John passed away at the young age of 98.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, he was the kind of American that could only come from that time and place, proud, steady, patriotic, and full of heart. A true son of the Greatest Generation, he lived with honor, perseverance, and quiet strength.
He spoke with that warm Brooklyn Italian accent you’d swear was written for the movies, and he married the girl from down the street. A gifted jewelry designer, he shaped beauty with his hands and embodied the very best of his generation, kindness, a sense of collective purpose, a love for jazz and whiskey, and a spirit that found joy in life’s simple moments.
A visitation will be held at Casey Funeral Home, located at 350 Slosson Ave, Staten Island, NY, 10314, on October 16, 2025, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
The committal service will take place at Moravian Cemetery, 2205 Richmond Rd, New York, NY, 10306, on October 16, 2025, from 12:30 pm to 12:45 pm.
