knew john ciano many years ago seems like yesterday. john was a great friend&neighbor. our sincere love&condolences to tommy,jackie&marypat. your dad was the best. love vito&eileen minucci&family.

I remember Mr. Ciano from JHS 27 . That was about 48 years ago. He was a really good guy. My condolences to the family.

It was with a sad heart when I heard the news of your Dads death. He was a great guy and a wonderful friend.  I truly enjoyed all the years we worked together in the Titan Leauge. As a member of the old timers breakfast club we had some great mornings.  I am sorry that I couldn't attend the wake but he is in our thoughts and prayers.

Tom, my condolences to you and your family on the passing of your Dad. A lot of fond memories of your dad coaching our Titan League baseball teams and track at BSS. God Bless both your dad and your family during this trying time.

 Mr. Ciano was the teacher in charge at the afterschool program at I.S. 27 in 1975.  He taught about 45 of us how to play field hockey and the meaning of good sportsmanship. I am in my mid-fifties now and still remember him and his lessons fondly.  My condolences to his family

Great teacher.  I.S.27.  Was teacher in charge of after school program.  Used to play corny music at program.  Now at my age (62) that music don't seem corny to me now.

Tom my condolences to you and your family on the passing of  your Dad.  I always enjoyed having your father coach us in baseball and track.  He also gave me plenty of rides along the way. He was a true gentleman and thank god a mets and giants fan.

They do not make people like John Ciano anymore. John was one of the nicest, most caring human beings on this earth. He did not have a mean bone in his body. He was probably one of the most honest, respectful person you could ever meet. I had the honor and pleasure working with John for almost 30 years. As a teacher, he was all about making sure the children got a good education. He was a tremendous husband, parent and grandparent. He was so proud of his family and the New York Mets. I will miss going to college basketball games with him. He used to lecture me all the time and I loved every minute of it. I will miss him dearly. God Bless John Ciano.

Mr. Ciano was a parent to us all on Curtis Avenue. He was always there to inspire and guide us with an upbeat attitude. His warm smile and gentile voice always made you feel welcome and  he was a huge role model in our community. My heart is heavy for you Jack, Mary Pat, and Tommy, your Dad was a lovely, lovely man! My deepest condolences and love to you at this very difficult time.

 He was an Uncle to all us kids growing up on Curtis Ave the block will never be the same with out him there. We are all better for knowing him. Go Mets ! Love and prayers from David and Kandace Callaghan.

Mr. Ciano was a sincere and kind man.I was very fortunate to know him even if for just a short time. He was a wonderful teacher and mentor to so many of us growing up in SINY.
