

Mr. Delisio was born in Stapleton and grew up in Grant City. He later lived in Oakwood for 30 years. In retirement he became a snowbird, wintering in Port St. Lucie, Fla.
A graduate of St. Peter's Boy's High School, he earned a bachelor's degree in education from Manhattan College, the Bronx, and received a master's degree in physical education from the former Richmond College, St. George.
Mr. Delisio taught at Dreyfus Intermediate School in Stapleton for 33 years, until retiring in 2003.
He was an avid New York Yankees and Jets fan, and also enjoyed playing golf.
A loving uncle to his many nieces and nephews, he enjoyed being with his extended family and he especially enjoyed sharing holiday meals with his loved ones.
Mr. Delisio was laid back and easygoing. His philosophy was, "Never complain about something you can't control," and "What's to be is to be," his family said.
He is survived by his brother, John, and his sister, Marianne Sciametta.
The funeral will be Friday from the Casey Funeral Home, Castleton Corners, with a mass at 10:15 a.m. in St. Charles Church. Burial will follow in Moravian Cemetery, New Dorp.
