Born January 25, 1934, in New Brighton, Staten Island, to Joseph and Rose Riccardi, Joe was 1 of 10 children. He proudly served his country during the Korean War before beginning a long and successful career as a stockbroker in Manhattan, where he worked for forty-five years. In 1956, he married Rosemarie, and together they raised five sons. Joe and Rosemarie also became the proud owners of Pippi Jr’s, a well-known bar in West Brighton where many friendships and memories were made. After 39 years of marriage, Rosemarie sadly passed away in 1995.
In 2000, Joe was blessed to find love again when he met Theresa Caputo while teaching CCD at St. Patrick’s on Staten Island. Together they built a new life in Marlboro, NJ, centered on faith and family, Joe as a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus and Eucharistic Minister, and Theresa as a member of the Rosarian Society. Joe cherished his time with Theresa, enjoying travel, holidays, the New York Mets, and the company of their ever-growing family.
A proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Joe took immense joy in family gatherings, whether hosting dinners, celebrating milestones, or simply enjoying the company of those closest to him. He will be remembered for his generosity, devotion, work ethic, and love of life.
Joseph Riccardi is survived by his children Joseph Riccardi (Anne Marie Riccardi), John Riccardi, Robert Riccardi, Ronald Riccardi (Helen Riccardi), and Richard Riccardi; stepchild Theresa Caputo; his grandchildren Joseph, John, Raymond, Tiffany, Elena, Alanna, Christopher, Taylor, Matthew, Ava, and Michael; and his great-grandchildren Cole, Gannon, Luke, Gianna, and Nora. He was predeceased by his first wife, Rosemarie Riccardi, and his second wife, Theresa Caputo Riccardi.
