Born on March 24, 1959 in Brooklyn, New York. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Nora Brown.
Kathleen was a graduate of Immaculate Conception School and Curtis High School. She also graduated from business school in New York City.
She was the beloved wife of Salvatore Spurge. Loving mother of Shannon McGrane and stepmother to Salvatore Spurge Jr. and Julia Spurge. Fond mother-in-law of John McGrane. Devoted Nana to Nora and Emma, and step-grandmother to Michael, Mia, and Lilah. Kathleen was the loving sister of the late Mary Dina, Colleen McCloskey, and Thomas Brown, as well as survived by her brothers Kevin Brown and Martin Brown. She was also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Kathleen worked in Staten Island at the Li Greci’s Staaten for about 20 years and then for the New York City Department of Education School Foods for over a decade.
Kathleen enjoyed spending time with her family and vacationing in LBI at the Jersey Shore.
A visitation for Kathleen will be held Wednesday, November 29, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Casey McCallum Rice South Shore Funeral Home, 30 Nelson Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10308. A funeral service will occur Thursday, November 30, 2023, at 9:45 AM at St. Clares Church, 110 Nelson Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10308.
