

Margaret Mary McGinn (nee McKeon) affectionately known as Maggie and Aunt Marge of Staten Island, NY was born on May 19, 1937 and passed away peacefully on 12/26/2024 at the age of 87. She was the proud and loving wife to Thomas G. McGinn M.D. for over 57 years. Tom was the love of her life along with their daughter Alicia McGinn Sullivan and she built a full life around them.
She so loved her daughter Alicia Joanna McGinn Sullivan, who was the apple of her eye along with her husband Jerry Sullivan, and was a proud Nanni to her beautiful grandchildren; Tyler, Mason and Scarlett Sullivan. Devoted daughter to the late Mr. and Mrs. James McKeon of Brooklyn, NY. Dear sister to her closest and best friend Josephine McKeon Hutton along with her husband Jon (Hutton), loving and devoted sister to the late Philomena McKeon Morrisey and her late husband Thomas, a special aunt to many wonderful nieces and nephews along with being a great aunt to over twenty-five great nieces and nephews and having many friends.
Margaret started out from humble beginnings and was very proud of her Irish Catholic heritage. She was an avid reader and active participant over many years in her book club along with many close friends. Margaret lived her faith in her nursing career and service to others which extended beyond her career as an active member of the American Heart Association, Kidney Society, President of the Diabetic Society, and many years of chairing the Staten Island University Hospital Charity Ball. Her legacy and commitment to her husband, family, nursing and helping others will live on in all that have met her.
Margaret was a graduate of Bay Ridge High School in Brooklyn, NY in 1954. She received her Nursing degree (RN) from Long Island College of Nursing, and her bachelor’s and master’s degree in counseling from St. John’s University in Staten Island, NY. While serving others as a nurse, she met her husband Tom, a doctor, and they had an amazing love for over fifty years where they lovingly cared for each other until the end of her life. She always fondly reminisced about her travels with Tom visiting various locations throughout Europe and the numerous medical conferences that allowed her, Tom, and Alicia to see many parts of the country. She was loved by all and will be missed by many.
A visitation will be held at Casey Funeral Home, 350 Slosson Avenue, Staten Island, NY on Friday, January 3 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Charles Church, 644 Clawson Street, Staten Island, NY at 10:15 AM on Saturday January 4.
