Mass is Monday for FDNY lieutenant, Army veteran
Michael Perfect, 99, passed away on May 17, 2018, at home in Meiers Corners, S.I.
Michael, born in Tompkinsville, S.I., was a graduate of Curtis High School (1938). He earned his bachelor of arts degree from Wagner College in 1942. In 1992, he was named to the Wagner College Athletic Hall of Fame.
He served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps from 1942 to 1946, and was discharged as a lieutenant. Michael was a FDNY lieutenant, serving in Engine Co. 157/Ladder Co. 80. He was a parishioner of St. Rita's Church.
Michael enjoyed watching football and the New York Yankees. He also enjoyed horse racing, OTB, and trips to Atlantic City.
He was married to Margaret "Peggy" Perfect (nee Melfi) for 66 years. He is survived by his wife and many nieces and nephews. Michael was predeceased by 12 siblings.
Visitation is Sunday, May 20, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Casey Funeral Home. The Mass is on Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Rita's Church, S.I. Interment is at St. Peter's Cemetery.
