Patricia A. Sorensen

Born on April 27, 1937 on Staten Island, Patricia was the daughter of the late John and Pauline Murphy. Patricia grew up near Silver Lake and attended Our Lady of Good Counsel and Curtis High School. She married the late Robert (Bob) Sorensen. Pat worked at U.S. Gypsum and S.S. White, and raised four daughters. She enjoyed gardening and her roses. A Bingo enthusiast, she was known as Grandma Bingo. She was active with the Columbiettes of the Stolzenthaler K of C. She enjoyed traveling and cooking. She was especially famous for her meatballs and baked goods.

She is survived by her daughters Betty Scarano (Tom), Patti Sorensen, Dr. Barbara Sorensen-Tackett (Bob), and JoAnn Argondizza (Roger). Also four grandchildren, Christine Shedlebower (Chad), Megan Kirpan (David), Kimberly Reidy and Matthew Walsh. And three great grandchildren, Ella, Oliver and Eva.

She was pre-deceased by her husband of 48 years, Robert G. Sorensen, and by her grandson Shaun Walsh.

She was a kind and caring person loved by all.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 22, 2024 from 2:00PM to 4:00PM and 7:00PM to 9:00PM at Casey McCallum Rice South Shore Funeral Home, 30 Nelson Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10308. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, September 23rd at 11:00AM at Our Lady Help of Christians RC Church, Tottenville followed by the interment at Resurrection Cemetery, Pleasant Plains.
