Born and raised in Dracut, Mass, after moving to the Island he lived in Rosebank, South Beach and Prince's Bay. He later returned to South Beach.
Mr. Murray worked as a bus driver for the MTA. He retired in 2007.
He enjoyed playing cards and visits to Atlantic City. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, and was a loving uncle to his nieces and nephews.
Mr. Murray is survived by his wife of four years, Margaret; his daughter, Marie Franzone; his stepdaughter, Cindy Fleming; his stepsons, Michael Coro, Donelle Trotman and Rydell Latta; his sister, Phyllis Murray; 10 grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter.
The funeral service will be Friday at 8 p.m. in the Virginia Funeral Chapel, Dongan Hills. Arrangements include cremation.
