He attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help Grammar School and St. Augustine High School. After High School, Ray enlisted in the United States Coast Guard where he proudly served until 1972. Once he completed his service, Ray went on to work as a telephone technician as part of the CWA Local 1101 Union for AT&T, Lucent Technologies, Avaya, and NYU until his retirement.
Ray enjoyed spending his summers at the Great Kills Swim Club, cruising with his family, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a long time parishioner of St. Clare Parish in Great Kills, and a Third Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus, where he truly enjoyed spending time with his Brother Knights who became his closest friends.
He is survived by his children Raymond Jr. (Kristy), Daniel (Lori), and Maureen Curtin (Thomas), his 9 Grandchildren Raymond, Connor, Daniel, Avery, Dylan, Riley, Lily, Maggie, and Emma, and his brother Bill (Cyndi).
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 48 years Mary, parents Andrew and Anna, brothers Andrew and John, and sisters Elizabeth (Betty) and Mary.
