

Born in Queens, Mr. Sentmier graduated for Forest Hills High School before moving to New Springville. He moved to Port Richmond in 1982 and also lived in Great Kills before settling in Concord in 1988.
Mr. Sentmier was the night manager at the Stop & Shop supermarket, Great Kills. Before that, he had worked for the King Kullen supermarket in Greenridge. He also worked for 15 years for Waldbaum’s at its stores in Port Richmond, Eltingville and Greenridge. He was a 25-year member of Local 338.
He was an avid baseball fan and had an enormous baseball card collection. He enjoyed watching the Yankees and Giants.
Mr. Sentmier enjoyed taking cruises and trips to Point Pleasant, N.J. He also enjoyed cooking, especially Italian dishes.
“He was hard-working, devoted, and a true family man and he will be greatly missed,” said his wife of 25 years, the former Maureen Power.
Along with his wife, Maureen, also surviving are a son, Richard; five daughters, Allison Alston, Jennifer Memolo, Donna Kent, Linda Sentimer and Melissa Pagliavini; a sister, Lori Kennedy, and 19 grandchildren.
The funeral will tomorrow at 10 a.m. in the Virginia Funeral Chapel, Dongan Hills. Arrangements include cremation.
