He is survived by: his wife of 23 years Sayra (Bautista); his children, Isabella and Arianna, his brother Mark (Melissa), and his parents Robert and Lillian.
Robert graduated Pace University in 1990 and then went on to have a very successful 30-year career at US Customs and Border Protection where he was eventually promoted to Deputy Chief. His position allowed him to encounter and interact with travelers from different cultures, which he very much enjoyed. Additionally, Robert was recognized as Federal Employee of the Year in 2009 for his leadership skills.
Robert was an excellent bass guitar player and had a passion for cooking, the NY Rangers, and the NY Mets. He also was an avid supporter of Zoos & Wildlife foundations while caring for his own pets including dogs and aquatic life. But most of all, Robert was known for his love of life and family and will be sorely missed.
A funeral service will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church in Staten Island on Tuesday July 27th at 10am. Visitations will be held at Casey’s Funeral Home on Sunday July 25th from 2-6pm and on Monday from 4-8pm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Robert’s name may be made to either the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network at https://www.pancan.org or the Lymphoma Research Foundation at https://lymphoma.org
