

Robert M. DeRenzi (Bobby D), 67, a lifelong resident of Staten Island, N.Y., passed away on March 23, 2016, at his home in Westerleigh, surrounded by family. Robert attended Curtis High School and retired in security with National Grid (formerly Keyspan and Brooklyn Union Gas). He was president of the union at Keyspan and blood bank chairman and was involved with the United Way. Robert loved cooking and watching hockey, and had a love for animals, especially his dog and cats, and for music. He played football in his youth and as an adult for the Staten Island football league. Robert is survived by Kim Mazza, his companion of 22 years; stepsons, Vincent and Glenn Mazza; his sisters, Susan Knudson and brother-in-law Robert Knudson, and Laura Niemann; his nieces, Andrea Prendamano, Christine Knudson, Lauren Longo, and nephew , Carl Niemann, and great-nieces, Delaney and Sutton Longo. A Funeral Mass will be said on Tuesday, March 29, at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Church Arrangements under the direction of Casey Funeral Home, Staten Island, NY.
