

Retired FDNY fire alarm dispatcher, antique auto enthusiast
Robert C. Stephens (JoJo) died Jan. 28 2020, at Richmond University Medical Center. He resided in Sunnyside. He was born and raised in Brooklyn and went to Bishop Ford High School.
Mr Stephens was a fire alarm dispatcher for FDNY and retired in 2004 after 26 years of service to the City of New York. He was a member of St. Teresa's parish and a member of the Metropolitan Fire Association and Staten Island region antique auto club.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Louise Stephens (Speruggia )and his children, Mary Stephens Tacetta, Dawn Stephens, Kelly Ritz and Vincent Stephens and his sons-in-law, Mark Tacetta, Jason Ritz and his daughter-in-law, Lisa Stephens. Mr Stephens had four grandchildren: Rebecca Ritz, Robert Ritz, Thomas Tacetta and Christina Tacetta. He is also survived by his brothers, Thomas Stephens, Dennis Stephens and his sisters-in- law, Elaine, Eve, Patty and many nieces and nephews. He will join his brother, Edward Stephens, Carol Dym, and Maureen Stephens.
Services will held Friday, Jan. 31 at Casey Funeral Home, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The mass will be held Saturday, Feb. 1 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Teresa Church with burial to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery
