

The lifelong Staten Islander was born and raised in New Brighton. She settled in Meiers Corners in 1959.
After graduating from Curtis High School, she worked as a secretary for NBC Television in Manhattan. She left the workforce to raise her family. She later was an office manager for an Island law firm for 15 years, retiring in 1998.
Mrs. Finley had volunteered as a Cub Scout den mother and was a cheerleading coach for St. Rita's School, Meiers Corners.
She treasured her family and the time she spent with them.
She also enjoyed cooking, preparing Swedish desserts, knitting and sewing.
Mrs. Finley was an active parishioner of St. Rita's R.C. Church, Meiers Corners, where she was a member of the Guild.
Her husband of 51 years, Donald, died in 2005. She also was preceded in death by her infant son, Kenneth, and her grandson, Jason Nolan.
Surviving are her sons, Donald and James; her daughters, Sharon Yeager and Erin Harris, and 12 grandchildren.
The funeral will be Thursday from the Casey Funeral Home, Castleton Corners, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Rita's Church. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, West Brighton.
