Steve Amato, 80 Devoted to his family Steve Amato, 80, of Richmond Town, Staten Island, N.Y., died March 31, 2016. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Steve retired as the bakery manager at King Kullen in 1993. He was a devoted and loving man who was extremely proud of his family. He was known for his fun-loving, jovial manner. He spent hours with his grandchildren, playing games and telling stories. Steve liked to fish, hunt, play cards, cook, and watch wrestling. He was predeceased by his wife of 38 years, Anna Rose, who died in 2003, and his son-in-law, Charlie. Steve is survived by his children, Ned (Addy), Stephen (Lisa), Lisa Torres, Jodi Antonacci, Gina Gualda (Marcelo), Michael (Sharon); 19 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Tony and Michael, and sister, Frances. Services are being handled by Casey Funeral Home, with visitation Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral is Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. at St. Charles Church.
