

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Thomas C. Davide, 74, of Huguenot, a retired NYS Racing and Wagering Board employee, business owner and a loving family man, died Sunday in Sunrise Senior Living, Concord.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, he graduated from New Utrecht High School in his native borough. He moved to Huguenot in 1982 and to Eltingville in 2012.
Mr. Davide worked for the former NYS Racing and Wagering Board for more than 20 years. After retiring in 1998, he started his own business delivering baked goods to restaurants.
He was a member of the Elks Club.
In his leisure time, he loved to cook and enjoyed woodworking. He had a great sense of humor, and was devoted to his family and friends, family said.
“After their parents died, he raised Jodi and Clint, his niece and nephew, as his own children,” said his domestic partner, Bridget White.
Mr. Davide's wife of 25 years, the former Barbara Stanick, died in 2012.
Surviving are his son, Rick Spina; his daughter, Pamela Bauer; two sisters, Helen Desiderio and Margaret Rosalie, and six grandchildren.
The funeral will be Thursday from the Casey McCallum Rice South Shore Funeral Home, with a mass at 9:45 a.m. in St. Clare’s R.C. Church, both Great Kills. Arrangements include cremation.
