

Loving husband, adored father, and cherished grandfather
Victor Zambrano, 70, a longtime resident of Dongan Hills Colony, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 15, 2019.
Victor was born in Borough Park, Brooklyn in 1948, and graduated from both St. Catherine of Alexandria Grammar School and Bishop Ford Central Catholic High School. He also attended Long Island University. Victor proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1968 until 1970 and was a decorated, retired Vietnam veteran as well as a recipient of the Purple Heart.
Victor retired from the insurance industry where he mainly worked for Prudential and John Hancock. During his retirement, Victor ventured into the restaurant business with his son, Alexander as the proprietor at Alexander's Restaurant on Cedar Grove Avenue in New Dorp.
Victor was the son of the late Carmela and Sabato (Sam) Zambrano. He was predeceased by his sister, Virginia Forte (nee Zambrano) and his brother, Robert Zambrano. He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Mary Ann (nee Caracappa), their six children, Alexander "A.J." (Gwen Pascarella), Carrie Caminiti (Jason), Stephanie Hernandez (Anthony), Victoria Alicea (Jose), Victor Jr., and Marianne Torres (De Forest) and grandchildren, Giovanni and Georgina Alicea, Amanda and Alexis Hernandez and Christian Thomas Caminiti. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Dr. Frank Forte, sister- in- law, Marian Zambrano, and brother and sister-in-law, Stephen and Phyllis Caracappa, as well as cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.
Victor's greatest passion was his family. He enjoyed spending time at home often having big BBQs and holiday dinners. He was very involved with his children's extracurricular activities, coaching their teams and attending all their events. In his spare time, Victor loved playing pinochle and poker, taking trips to Atlantic City and working on projects around the house with his kids.

Visitation for family and friends will be Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Casey Funeral Home, 350 Slosson Ave., Staten Island, N.Y. 10314.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Ann's R.C. Church, 101 Cromwell Ave., Staten Island, N.Y. 10304 at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 20, followed by a burial at Moravian Cemetery in New Dorp, Staten Island, NY 10306.
