Vincent J. Ricciardi, 92, passed away peacefully on Wednesday at home surrounded by loved ones. He was the proud father and patriarch of 10 children, 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. A lifelong resident of Staten Island, he was born and raised in New Brighton and resided in the family home in Livingston from 1951 until his passing.
Survived by his children Dorothy, Vincent (Angela), Marie, Louise (Kevin Coyle), Anne (Kenneth Easlon), Donna (Michael Eron), Patricia (Tim Roemer), Nancy (John Clifford), and Christopher; sisters-in-law, Gloria Ricciardi, Elaine Ricciardi, Gloria Riccardi and brother-in-law Harold Boyle. He is predeceased by his wife of 62 years Dorothy, his son Michael, and his siblings Jack, Joey, Carmella (Sis), and Charlie.
“Pop” adored spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren Joseph, Elizabeth, Juliana, Angela, Julia, Samantha, Timothy, Kevin, Nick, Louis, Kate, Jenlain, Vincent and great-grandchildren Kevin, Kylie, Keira, Cecilia, Cameran, and Angela. He cherished his time with each and was beloved by all.
Vincent, along with his family, owned and operated the James Ricciardi & Sons Trucking Co., founded by his father, James.
Vinnie had many interests and hobbies. He was an ardent football fan, faithfully devoted to the NY Giants and whichever team his son-in-law coached. He was an avid trap shooter winning numerous tournaments and championships and was deeply involved with the Staten Island Sportsman’s Club, serving in executive capacities and mentoring those new to the sport throughout the years. He also thoroughly enjoyed bowling, needlepoint which he learned from his mother Angelina, crosswords, puzzles, reading, and watching Jeopardy. He treasured all of the friendships he made through his hobbies over the years.
He was a proud veteran of World War II having served in the Army.
Viewing will take place at Harmon Funeral Home, 571 Forest Avenue on Saturday and Sunday from 3pm to 7pm. A funeral Mass will take place on Monday at Sacred Heart Church at 10:30am with burial to follow at Moravian Cemetery, New Dorp.
