STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- William Christopher Flaherty, 62, of Arden Heights, a retired city bus driver who enjoyed watching football, died Tuesday at home.
Mr. Flaherty was born and raised in Brooklyn, and graduated from Bishop Ford High School in his native borough.
He moved to Eltingville in 1974, and later settled in Arden Heights.
Mr. Flaherty worked for more than 10 years as a city bus driver. He retired in 2012.
He enjoyed reading, playing billiards, and watching football.
He was a parishioner of St. Clare's R.C. Church, Great Kills.
Mr. Flaherty is survived by his father, William; his brothers, Brian and Michael, and his longtime companion, Donna Ferrigno.
The funeral will be Friday from the Casey McCallum Rice South Shore Funeral Home, Great Kills, with a mass at 9:45 a.m. in St. Clare's Church. Arrangements include cremation.
