

Mr. Albert “Al” Martorano, age 68, died Saturday at East Georgia Regional Medical Center. He was a native of Garfield, New Jersey and lived many years in Tampa, Florida before moving to Statesboro three years ago. Mr. Martorano was a Veteran of the United States Army having served during the Vietnam War. He worked for Braswell Food Company and was a member of Crossroads Community Church. Mr. Martorano enjoyed fishing, cooking, crafts, working on cars, and talking with people. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Luann Martorano Haydu.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Martorano of Statesboro; three children, Albert Martorano, Jr. of Tennessee, Denise Gardner of Woodstock, and Bill Gardner of Rock Hill, South Carolina; two brothers, Robert Martorano of New Jersey, and Salvatore Martorano of Florida; ten grandchildren, Michael Martorano, Nick Martorano , Albert Martorano, Katelin Martorano, Amanda Martorano, Sophia Martorano, Tero Martorano, Cailee Colegrove, Leah Gardner, and Jenna Gardner; two sisters-in-law, Charlotte (Michael) DeVita of Lake Placid, Florida, Myra Capeletti of Snellville, Ga.; one brother-in-law, Tami (Barbara)Capeletti of Rock Hill, South Carolina.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. at Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 3:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
Hodges-Moore Funeral Home of Statesboro is in charge of the arrangements.
