

Mr. David Barker, age 57, died Tuesday at his residence under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. He was a native and longtime resident of Bulloch County and worked for Kangeter Trucking for many years. Mr. Barker was a member of Bible Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing, reading, grilling, and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his father, Bennie Barker.
Survivors include his wife of thirty four years, Rose Marie Fail Barker of Brooklet; two daughters, Stephanie (Victor Scott) Anderson of Rocky Ford, and Angela (Richie) Harris of Statesboro; one son, Benjamin David (Nikki) Barker of Brooklet; his grandchildren, Summer Anderson of Rocky Ford, and Alex Harris of Statesboro; his mother and step-father, Willow Mae and James Meeks of Statesboro; his brothers, Billy (Christine) Barker, and Donald Barker; his sister, Laura (Chuck) Yeater, all of Statesboro; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lendward and Rosa Lee Fail of Statesboro; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held on Friday at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Lower Lotts Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
