Devon Deloach

Devon was born in Winter Park, FL and moved to Statesboro 11 years ago. He was a 2010 graduate of Portal High School and graduated from the Police Academy at Ogeechee Technical College in 2011. Devon worked with the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Department from 2011 to November 2015, at which time he began working with his father at Deloach Exterminating. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Devon loved to play the drums and was an avid fisherman and hunter, was a beekeeper and especially loved to cook. He very much enjoyed collecting antiques, including signs, bottles, cans and tools.

Devon was preceded in death by his sister, Krissi Jade Deloach; maternal grandmother, Beverly Knight; paternal grandfather, W. C. Deloach; and his grandmother-in-law, Peggy Rewis.

Devon is survived by his wife, Lauren Deloach and his unborn child, due in March 2017; mother, Sherri Dyson of St. Charles, MO; father, John Corbett Deloach and his wife, Lorna of Statesboro; paternal grandmother, Martha A. Whitfield of Register; grandmother-in-law, Linda Bonnette of Statesboro; half-brothers, Ryan Hynko and his wife, Carmen of Sarasota, FL and Justin Hynko of Statesboro; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mark and Regina Bonnette of Statesboro; brother-in-law, Johnathan Bonnette of Statesboro; best friend, Andrew Heape of Statesboro; many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A gathering of family and friends will be held 6:00 to 9:00 PM Wednesday, August 10, 2016 in Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, August, 11, 2016 in Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Randy Waters officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Tony Prince, Brian Nessmith, Reid Odom, Steve Cleary, Noel Brown and Ken Daniels.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office.
