

Mrs. Edith Margarette Perkins, age 87, died Sunday at the Effingham Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Daniel C. Branson and Josie Gerrald Branson. She was born in Bulloch County and lived many years in Statesboro before moving to Guyton, where she was in the Effingham Extended Care Center. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, gardening and playing bingo. Mrs. Perkins was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph "J.C." Perkins.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Frances and John Clifton of Guyton and Wanda and Harry Stribling of LaGrange; three grandchildren, Dawn Cheney of Rincon, Chad Clifton of Statesboro and Jesse Stribling of Atlanta; four great-grandchildren, one brother, Oliver Branson of Florida; one sister, Alice Boykin of Hamilton, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Eastside Cemetery.
