

Mr. Frederick Allison Pickett of Greenville, SC, age 71, passed away on October 2, 2011 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center after an extended illness. He was a born in Brockton, Mass. and was a veteran of the United States Military having served in the U. S. Army from 1958-1966, serving in both Korea and Germany. Mr. Pickett worked as a warehouseman and Supervisor for Broadway Department Store in Los Angeles, California for over thirty years. He always worked hard and set an example of work ethic and family. His hobbies included bowling, watching sports, playing cards and talking with his family. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Joseph Pickett and Mable Pickett Schlaba and one sister, Mrs. Janice Bishop.
Survivors include one daughter, Stacey (Mike )Thomas of Greenville S.C.; three sons, Frederick Pickett of Statesboro, Eddie (Tracy) Pickett of Fontana, California, and Kenny (Jennifer) Pickett of Springfield, GA; twelve grandchildren, Amber Pickett, Amanda MacArthur, Allen McArthur, Jaime Mealling, Jeremy Thomas, Mathew Pickett, Eric Pickett, Kevin Pickett, Aaron Pickett, Bryce Pickett, Evan Pickett, and Luke Pickett; three great-grand children, Payton Mealling, Avery Mealling and Hayden Thomas; three sisters, Joanne Zeigelhoffer of Whittier, California, Joyce Reed of Temple City, California, and Karen Howard of Tucson, Arizonia
A Memorial Service will be held Monday, October 3, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Hodges-Moore Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carl Ledbetter officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association, 5105 Paulson Street, Suite C-236, Savannah, GA, 31405
Hodges-Moore Funeral Home of Statesboro is in charge of the arrangements.
