

Ms. Murray was born and raised in Statesboro and graduated from Marvin Pittman Laboratory School. She went on to attend Georgia Southern College receiving her bachelor of arts degree in Education, her Master’s degree in Education and her PhD in Education. Judy taught school at Diamond Elementary School in Fort Stewart for 34 years and was a member of First Baptist Church of Statesboro and attended Clito Baptist Church for most of her life.
Judy was preceded in death by her father, John Murray; her brothers, Johnny Murray, Rickey Murray and Clifford Murray; and her brother-in-law, Jerry Hendrix.
Judy is survived by her mother, Ruth Hendrix Murray of Statesboro; sister, Dean Hendrix of Statesboro; brother, Robbie Murray and his wife, Kathy of Aiken, SC; and many nieces and nephews.
A gathering of family and friends will be held 1:30 to 3:00 PM Wednesday, October 25th in Hodges-Moore Funeral Home, followed 3:00 PM funeral service in the chapel, with Reverend J. D. Turner officiating.
Burial will follow in Hendrix Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her nephews, Wayne Hendrix, Mike Hendrix, Jeff Hendrix, Rick Murray, Craig Murray, Chad Murray, Blake Murray and Kyle Murray.
